A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

You arrive, stranded, on a seemingly uninhabited island. Use your resourcefulness to scavenge materials from your surroundings and craft them into tools you can use to uncover the island's mysteries and escape, but maybe the island isn't as lonely as you had once thought... ~ 10-15 minutes of playtime

Castaway is my first published game and the product of a huge learning curve after picking up Godot for the first time a couple of weeks ago. It was developed over the course of the jam and taught me a vast amount about Godot and game development and design in general, as well as being an excellent excuse to procrastinate my final exam study. It was developed jointly with my Father, Paul, who made the amazing low poly assets that populate the island in Blender.

I hope you enjoy Castaway and if you have any comments or suggestions I'd love to hear them!

the mouse sensivity is to high and maybe a pause menu and crafting table/ workbench kinda thing would be nice

but over all great game so far had fun playing it

Thanks for the feedback I'm glad you enjoyed it! A main menu/pause menu were things I definitely wanted to include given a little more time, but I'm still getting to grips with game UI design (as you can probably tell lol).

The walking is extremely slow and the mouse sensitivity is crazily high.

But I like the overall feel of the game.

I don't understand how to proceed. after having built the pickaxe and the strange stone thing

Thanks for the feedback! The walking speed and mouse sense are definitely things I was unsure about.
To proceed from where I think you are, you need to find the cave near the forest with the big wooden board over it (you should be able to year a bell ringing to indicate where it is). You can chop down the board and inside is the fairy which will help you open the door on the upper level where you'll find the final puzzle of the game where you will use the stone weight. :)
I hope that helps and thanks for playing!

Thanks I absolutely missed the door somehow.

Would be cool if you could make a web version of this as well (after the jam).

I generally don't like downloading and having to trust apps from strangers ;)

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I'll definitely consider making it available in the browser in the future.

By the way, once you make it through the door there are stones there to mine with the pickaxe which makes crafting the weight far less tedious :)
